Curly hair in humidity
Damp air can make curly hair frizzy, and so can hair that breaks. Our frizzy hair in humidity guide covers how damp air does it. To help prevent the damage that makes hair break easily, we’d comb tight curls while they are damp, with a wide-tooth comb.
If you are planning a cut, you can read about it on our women’s haircut page.

Why comb tight curls while damp?
Combing at the wrong moment can damage hair. Damaged hair breaks easily, and hair that breaks can look frizzy. For tight curls, the right moment is while they are damp. Combing tight curls also takes less effort wet than dry.
Your next step
If your curls are tight and you comb them dry, start by combing them damp. If you already comb them damp and they still frizz, damp air or other wear on the hair can be adding to it, and our frizz guide covers both.
